Have you ever wanted to know more about fly fishing? Have you tried fly fishing, but you aren’t sure you have the proper equipment? Are you an avid fly fisherman, but you don’t know or have not perfected all your casting skills?
If you answered yes to any or all of the above, we have a treat for you!

Ted Fauceglia, author of Mayfiles, Major Eastern and Midwestern Hatches, renowned photographer and certified casting instructor has offered to give a free Fly Fishing Casting Techniques Seminar/Clinic at Buhl Park on Sunday, May 1st at 2:00pm. Not only will Ted give us a brief discussion about equipment, he will demonstrate and teach several popular casting techniques and some difficult casts so you are better prepared for fly fishing on our local streams and river!
Ted became a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting instructor after years of fly fishing and months of hard work, classes and testing and he is ready to share what he learned with Shenango River Watchers! We hope you will join us to learn from this incredible teacher!
We will meet at the grassy area next to the eastern part of Lake Julia (east of the bridge) at 2:00pm. It is not necessary that you have equipment to attend this class, but if you have it, bring it!

Earth Day Cleanup April 23rd

2016 earth day cleanup

Our Earth Day Cleanup is just around the corner!
We will meet in the parking lot behind O’Neill Coffee in West Middlesex at 9AM on Saturday April 23rd.

The cleanup site is just past the Dairy Farmers of America building, we will walk up together from the parking lot. The site has a lot of tires that need to be removed from the area. We will have 1 or 2 semi trucks there to load the tires onto. We will NOT be getting on the river this day, but the land we are cleaning up runs along the river, and there is also a decent size wetland area on this property that has some tires in it, so bringing your waders might be helpful. We are concentrating on the large tire piles (that are on dry land) first, and if we can get through them, we will move on towards the wetlands to cleanup that area.
Below are some photos of the tire piles that we will be tackling!

Your support and time is greatly appreciated. We hope to see you all there! Bring a friend!
