Join us on Sunday November 17th, as we celebrate National Take a Hike Day with a history hike on the Shenango Trail. We’ll meet 1 PM at the New Hamburg trailhead on Hamburg Road (near St. Mark’s church), take a shuttle to the Big Bend trailhead, then hike 4 miles back to New Hamburg along the Shenango Trail while learning about its history as part of the Erie Extension Canal System. Afterwards, at 4:30, the Canal Museum in Greenville will open for us to see their displays and learn more about the Shenango River’s history as part of the Canal system.
Please note that there are no restrooms along this section of trail, and that the Canal museum also does not have available restrooms.
