Located on the old Erie Canal Extension towpath, the Shenango Trail is 8.75 miles long from Big Bend to Kidds Mill Covered Bridge. The trail is maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers led by our Trail Manager, Joe Torok.
Typical Trail Work Days include cleaning and installing trail knicks and rolling grade dips to aid in drainage, cutting back brush, and other trail maintenance.
Trail Work Day meeting sites vary, but will always be one of the following locations: Big Bend, New Hamburg, Kidds Mill, or the River Road Pipeline Access.
Trail maintenance and clean up beginning promptly at 10am. Bags, gloves, and tools to work with will be provided. Please dress to work outdoors with proper foot wear. Bring bug spray, water, and snacks if needed. We suggest long sleeve shirts with a head covering and long pants are a must.
Dates/times subject to cancelation or rescheduling. Please check our Facebook page or the SRW website for updated information. Added workdays may be scheduled during the work week as demands dictate and individuals are available.
